Jacqui Short

The newest member of Parkside, Jacqui has been singing since she was old enough to hold a microphone (er, hairbrush). Jacqui credits her diverse musical style to her parents who exposed her to every genre of music, listening to everything from Roy Orbison and Patsy Cline to Led Zeppelin and Madonna.

Originally from the St. Louis area (Go Cardinals!) Jacqui relocated to Fort Collins at age 8 and began singing with a traveling girl’s vocal group at age 10. She performed as a member of the Fort Collins All-City and Colorado All-State choirs before receiving a vocal music scholarship at Colorado State University. While studying Health and Exercise Science at CSU, Jacqui trained as a mezzo-soprano under Dr. John Lueck and performed with the University Singers and Women’s Chorus.

When she’s not busy working as a personal trainer, Jacqui can be found hiking in the foothills, attempting to mountain bike, or channeling her favorite female rock musicians ( Joan Jett, Amy Lee, Ann Wilson and Pat Benatar are among her favorites).
We welcome Jacqui with open arms and look forward to making music together!
